Starter Reactivation Instructions

Thanks for picking up our dehydrated sourdough starter! Bringing it back to life is simple — just follow the steps below over the course of about three days, and you'll have a fully active starter ready for your next bake.

How To

  1. Place 10g of dried starter into a clean glass jar.
  2. Add 10g of warm filtered or bottled water.
  3. Stir and let sit until the flakes soften and dissolve into a paste.
  4. Add 10g of flour (bread or all-purpose).
  5. Cover the jar loosely with a lid and leave in a warm spot for 24 hours.
  6. After 24 hours, discard half of the mixture and add 15g of filtered water and 15g of flour.
  7. Cover the jar loosely again and leave in a warm spot until the volume doubles.
  8. Repeat steps 6–7 after another 24 hours.

At this point the starter should be fully active and ready to use in your bakes.
